Service Times: Sunday School: 8:30-9:45 and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Services 9:45 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday Bible Study 6:30 p.m. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Pastor Search team met for the first time April 24th and is now at work.
The search team selected Dr. Steve Bennett as chairman and will use his email address to submit resumes and contact the team
Hopewell staff and church members interested in applying for the pastor position are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter, including a brief description of why you are seeking this position, by May 19th 2013. Resumes can also be submitted to the church office in a sealed envelope labeled “Pastor Search Team”.
The team is excited to see what God has in the future for Hopewell and will be updating the church periodically through the bulletin. Please be praying for this team as they seek God's man to lead us as a body, to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Rev. Larry Wynn has been named the Transitional Pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church as of Feb. 17, 2013. We would like to welcome Rev. Larry Wynn On October 1, 2012, Larry joined the Georgia Baptist Convention staff as the Vice President of Church Revitalization and Leadership Ministries. Larry Wynn most recently served as Vice President for Evangelization and Leadership Development at the North American Mission Board (NAMB), Alpharetta, Georgia. A native of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Larry earned a B.A. degree, majoring in psychology and minoring in religion, at Mercer University in 1977. Larry also served as Senior Pastor of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia for the past 33 years. In his three decades at Hebron Baptist, Larry and the church have recorded more than 10,000 baptisms. Larry has held many positions of leadership, including President of the Georgia Baptist Convention. He enjoys many outdoor activities such as cycling, scuba diving, and camping. Larry and his wife, Ethel, have three grown children- Amanda Leigh, Dana Renee, and Adam. They also have twin grandchildren, Ryleigh Lynn and Avery Lavon. |
